Broccoli and Pasta Bake

A great one pot meal.

Method

  1. Place pasta in dish with a tin of tomatoes.
  2. Fill tin three quarters full with water and add to the dish.
  3. Cook, uncovered, in the preheated oven (180oC, Gas Mark 6) for approximately 20 minutes.
  4. Cut broccoli into small florets and cook in boiling water for 3 minutes.
  5. Drain and stir broccoli florets into the pasta mixture.
  6. Mix grated cheese, breadcrumbs and seasoning and pour over the top of the mixture.
  7. Return to the oven and cook for approximately 20-30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 320g (11oz) broccoli
  • 1 tin tomatoes
  • 225g (8oz) penne pasta
  • 40g (1½oz) cheddar cheese grated
  • 5 slices of bread (make into breadcrumbs)
  • salt & pepper
